We cover clusters builders care about: AI coding, ship & host, automation, design→code, data & auth, payments & email, product ops, research & local AI. We intentionally do not try to rank every SaaS category on earth.
Research process
Ideal comparisons target 50+ distinct sources. As of mid-2026 the live catalog is fully on the ideal pass (every comparison has quality_pass: ideal_v2 and a source pack). Tool profile pages are being upgraded to the same bar.
Step 1: Source pack
- Official — product site, pricing, docs, changelog, GitHub, status
- Community — Reddit, Hacker News, Discord/forum threads (sentiment + failure modes)
- Independent reviews — blogs, YouTube tests, third-party writeups
- Adjacent context — related tools, migration guides, security notes
Source lists for ideal pages live in our research cache and are reflected as source_count in SEO metadata.
Step 2: Structured Analysis
We evaluate each tool across consistent dimensions:

Step 3: AI-Assisted Writing with Human Review
We use AI to help draft comparisons based on our research data, but every article goes through:
- Fact-checking — every claim verified against source material
- Anti-AI tone review — removing generic language, ensuring specificity
- SEO & structure review — optimized for both humans and search engines
Our pipeline: Research → Plan → Draft → Critique → Refine. Each comparison goes through at least 3 review cycles before publication.
What We Don't Do
- ❌ No pay-to-play rankings — vendors cannot pay for higher placement
- ❌ No fake reviews — we don't aggregate incentivized star ratings
- ❌ No hidden bias — affiliate relationships don't affect our verdicts
- ❌ No generic AI slop — every comparison is based on real research

- Re-researching major comparisons quarterly
- Displaying "Last updated" dates on every comparison
